Girls' cricket started at Hoërskool Ben Viljoen in 2004, and as part of the Mpumalanga league in which we participated, our team was undefeated every year. In 2006, our girls' cricket team won by 6 wickets against Hoërskool Standerton to be the Mpumalanga champions for the third consecutive year, after which the interest in girls' cricket decreased. In 2021, however, it was reintroduced as a sport at Hoërskool Ben Viljoen and proceeds to take place during the third term.
An exciting cricket culture, rooted in strong values, discipline and cricket etiquette is maintained. We currently have one senior girls' cricket team who share impeccable sportsmanship. We strive for each player to enjoy the sport to the fullest and to ensure the full development of each player's skills.
